Hello! My name is Jenny and I am both a teacher and lifetime student of yoga living in San Francisco. My relationship with Yoga all began in high school when Ballet and Modern dance was my everything. Several injuries later, I decided I could make some room for other passions as well. I had tried yoga before but it didn't really hit home for me until I approached it outside of my perfectionist dancer mindset. Yoga is meant for healing and with a little patience, self discovery. The pivoting point for me was in high school when I studied abroad in India. I was ready for a rigorous practice where yoga had its deepest roots. I can say the practice was rigorous, but not in the way I had expected. We sat and meditated for extended periods of time and this really tested my patience and helped me notice my active avoidance of stillness. This was a new relationship with yoga, and I felt a new passion brewing. There, I experienced a shift, and then my first true practice of yoga began. And now the teachings... I continued avidly practicing when I went to College in Boulder, CO in 2010. Yoga was such a powerful tool in my life helping me to manage personal stress through finding a new level of self care, and self study. I knew I wanted more so I enrolled in my first 200-hour RYT teaching training through Corepower Yoga in 2012, followed by their 55-hour extensions training in 2013. During the trainings, I developed a gut feeling that yoga would grow to play a leading role in my life and I haven't looked back since. After college, I moved to San Francisco and began a new adventure in the city. Over the past several years in San Francisco, I have completed various excerpts in continuing education including an advanced 100 hour RYT through the Karuna Yoga School in Nicaragua and various workshops from Yoga Teachers with diverse backgrounds such as Ashtanga and Forrest Yoga. As I continued to feel a gravitational pull deeper into the yoga community, I decided it was time to make a career switch from sales to teaching as my career in 2016. Since then I have taught over 1000 hours of classes and have stopped counting. I am forever grateful for all the experiences and places yoga has taken me and the truly incredible people I have met along the way. I hope to share and continue along this Journey always. At my core I am a dedicated and passionate human, but I always try and remind myself to find the lightness in things. In my free time, I enjoy connecting with friends and new faces, travel, exploring the outdoors, and trying new things!
