My classes are grounded in the principles of yoga, alignment, and balance which you can then apply to all of your classes and activities, practicing more safely, effectively, and with greater enjoyment. "Yoga is about connection - offering a way to more deeply connect with and unleash your true, full, worthy, beautiful self that always exists inside and that rightfully has a place in this universe! This truth inside is what I call the Bliss Bud. When we experience this freedom, we can more honestly connect with others, growing communities of greater support, happiness and health. This is our Bliss Bud blossoming, spreading life-affirming energy across the world. Yoga is not about "perfect" poses - or even "perfect" bodies. It's about present practice to feel better and serve our lives. True perfection in a yoga practice is truly being in the moment. My goal is to help you cultivate this kind of practice, so that you can enjoy this freedom more and more in your daily life. It is not complicated; it's just learning how to pay attention to your body and mind while working within respectful guidelines. My students report that they feel more engaged and enjoy their practice more with this simple approach. Rather than forcing our bodies into perceived shapes, we can learn to understand how to listen to our bodies so that we can move and challenge ourselves in a way that energizes and serves us. Rather than chasing perceived ideals, we can learn to accept and love our bodies right now, by engaging with ourselves in respectful thoughts and actions - something we can practice on the mat and take with us when we roll up our mats. Whether we experience depression, anxiety, emptiness, loss, weakness, or feel pain from physical or emotional traumas - these all create a sense of disconnection from your true self. Practice generates connection, and this is where healing can happen." ~Nora D About Nora: Nora's classes help develop awareness and self-love with a simple blend of discipline, patience, sensitivity, and heart. She is a Certified Yoga Instructor with over twenty years of personal practice that has taken her across the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico to study a range of yoga styles. Including yoga, dance, and physical fitness, she's been teaching for twenty plus years. In 2006, she cofounded the YogaBuena studio in Guaynabo, PR where she developed and led various classes, workshops, and retreats. Later, she founded Bliss Bud in San Juan, PR which added a focus on individually tailored private programs and coaching. She is also a Licensed Massage Therapist, specializing in combining massage with yoga to correct alignment and relive pain. She is now happy to be expanding her coaching and classes globally, and even considering mindfully joining social media. With her open and generous spirit and her honest enthusiasm she creates an enriching and safe environment for all.
